We extend our gratitude to all 400 guests who joined us in celebrating last week’s 2023 Annual Fundraising Gala at Empire Garden!
The KKCS Youth Lion Dance team started off the evening with a captivating opening ceremony featuring eight lions, setting the stage for the night ahead.
During his welcoming remarks, Board Chairman Dr. John Leung called for a moment of silence to pay respects to Uncle Frank Chin and his remarkable legacy in Boston Chinatown.
Uncle Frank, a true pillar of the Chinese immigrant community, was a long-time board director and supporter of KKCS and sadly passed on October 9th.
Nick & Eva Chau were honored at the event for more than 45 years of service to the Chinatown area. The two founded Tai Tung Pharmacy and Tai Tung Realty on Harrison Avenue in 1977 and 1984 respectively, providing vital services for the Chinese immigrant population.
KKCS Educator Andy Wu was also honored for his dedication to the school over the past 12 years. Mr. Wu began as a teaching assistant in 2011, and has played crucial roles in the success of the organization as a program administrator, head curriculum developer, field trip coordinator, and more.
The night featured performances from our students and youth, and speeches from representatives such as TECO Director-General Charles Liao, City Council President Ed Flynn, and City Councilor At-Large Ruthzee Louijeune.
KKCS expresses our heartfelt gratitude to each and every person who has contributed to our school’s success in the past year — our sponsors, donors, community partners, educators, volunteers, families, youth — everyone! Thank you all for standing by our organization, mission, and community. Your contributions help amplify our work in Chinatown and beyond!
